Green Recession

Caring for the environment and helping to reduce poverty are still key priorities for holidaymakers despite the global recession. So says research by First Choice and Thomson, brands owned by TUI, one of the largest mainstream holiday companies in the world.

 

TUI's head of sustainability Sarah Holloway says the recession may actually help push down holiday prices as hotels and airlines make greater efforts to save energy. She says many hotels already recognise sustainable management can bring about savings and reduce the need for job losses during the economic downturn.
