Happy Birthday Archey!

One year ago greentravelguides.tv went live as an internet television channel showing how we can keep travelling without trashing the planet.

It's been an interesting 12 months.

The birth of our mascot Archey the Frog co-incided with the onset of the worst recession in eight decades.

Money has  been tight and people have not been spending as much on travel.

Yet the recession may have been good for sustainable travel. 

We're seeing more of our own countries; passing on international resorts in favour of B&Bs or camping - in short, making our journeys count.

The world is inching out of recession and that's a good thing.

But the experiences of the last year may have made all of us take stock of our priorities and think about the way we travel.

The future is bright and the future of travel is green.
