Consumers push for green travel

Consumers are the driving force behind responsible tourism, greentravelguides.tv editorial director Gill Williams told the 2012 Travel Foundation conference in London. She said holidaymakers visiting developing countries were aware of the need to support local communities and look after the environment.  Sustainability was no longer a niche issue and travellers expected their tour operators to support sustainable tourism, she said.
