Inkaterra nominated for key award

Peru’s first carbon neutral tourism company was recently nominated for a global conservation award. Inkaterra was a finalist for the 2010 Tourism for Tomorrow award for conservation.

The company has been working in the Andean cloud forest and Amazonia forests since the mid-Seventies.
It is involved in volunteer as well as luxury eco-tourism, both of which help fund research and conservation projects.
These include a rescue centre for endangered Spectacled Bears, which has led to the re-introduction of one female bear into the wild in the Machu Picchu Reserve.
