Tourism for Tomorrow Awards 2009

Turtle champions in Greece, a micro finance charity in Morocco and a Maasai-run eco lodge in Kenya are just three of the finalists in this year's Tourism for Tomorrow awards.

The awards have become the green tourism Oscars, recognising the most planet and people-friendly travel projects around the globe. They're run by the World Travel and Tourism Council, a weighty group of the 100 most powerful travel business people in the world.

The award winners will be announced at this year's WTTC summit, to be staged mid-May in Brazil.

Here WTTC president Jean-Claude Baumgarten talks about the Tourism for Tomorrow awards with greentravelguides.tv environmental journalist Richard Hammond.
