Only fly where it matters
If people stopped flying tomorrow there would be a conservation distaster, according to Costas Christ, travel editor of National Geographic.
Frajile areas like the Serengeti in Tanzania or the Pantanal in Brazil are only protected because people visit.
“If people didn’t visit the Pantanal wetlands it be one big cattle ranch,” he said.
“The issue isn’t how we stop travel but how we get it right.”
