Major conservation prize for NatureAir

The world's first carbon neutral airline has been named winner of the Conservation section of the international Tourism for Tomorrow awards.

The 2009 award presented by the World Travel and Tourism Council has gone to Costa Rica's Nature Air, which offsets its greenhouse gas emissions by  preserving and replanting rainforest in the Osa Peninsula.

NatureAir is also behind Costa Rica's only alternative fuelling station. It uses 100 per cent biodiesel produced from veggie oils and recycled  cooking fat to power its ground vehicles.
