The Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards 2009 took place on the 13th of November during World Travel Market, London. A major part of World Responsible Tourism Day and organised by responsibletravel.com, the event brought nominees and winners from across the world together.

Hosted by Stephen Sackur of BBC World's HARDtalk series, the event was opened by Justin Francis of responsibletravel.com.
