About this holiday

The people of Dominica are aware they're sitting on a golden goose. Their Caribbean island is one of the few not to have suffered from mass tourism development. They have rainforest, diverse wildlife – and one of the last indigenous Carib Indian communities in the world with a rich and unique culture.

Several tourism operations on the island are working to support community projects, such as schools and a health centre for severely disabled children.

Big efforts are also being made to ensure that tourism is sustainable and will enhance rather than detract from the natural environment.
